Dear Church Family,
Thank you for being so passionate about the work that God is doing at MGBC!
I believe that our church is unified around the mission to reach others with the gospel and see them grow into faithful disciples of Jesus!
As we focused on unity through serving in yesterday’s message, I was reminded that our church is already committed to a culture of service. I’ve also been encouraged by many who are looking for new opportunities to serve!
If the Lord is stirring your heart to take a step into service, here are four truths to remember:
- When we serve we follow Jesus! He came as a servant, and he calls us to follow Him in service. We are never more Christian than when we humbly serve others in His name!
- When we serve, we grow! Serving often stretches us beyond our comfort zone. It is in those moments that we experience God’s strength and discover how the Holy Spirit can work through us in ways we never imagined.
- When we serve, we love! We are surrounded by people with real needs. As we meet those needs, we become a tangible expression of God’s love and care.
- When we serve, we change lives! Our service impacts not only the person we help, but also the entire ministry of our church. As we saw in Acts 6, faithful service creates opportunities for the Word of God to spread and for more people to come to Christ.
No act of service is small or insignificant – remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 25:40
Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
Thank you for serving so faithfully. I’m grateful to be on this gospel mission with you, and I’m excited to see how our church will grow as we serve God and others together!
